Hanoi by Night - A Riveting Night's Photography Experience!

Hanoi by Night

Explore Hanoi by Night and the excitement of Hanoi in low-light

Enjoy a captivating night photography tour where enthusiasts of all levels can hone their skills and capture the authentic vibe of Hanoi’s street life.

We begin with a comprehensive review of night photography settings, delving into light adjustments to enhance Old Quarter street scenes. We then look at long exposure shots, capturing the light-streams of traffic through the ancient city gate. Next, we cross the overpass to venture towards Long Bien market, weaving through lively market traders and locals carrying produce. Beneath the bridge, stalls provide unique perspectives, while the main entrance offers opportunities for panning shots of loaded bikes and couriers.

Inside Long Bien market, we’ll focus on intimate relationship shots of local workers, utilizing special techniques to capture the action. Explore the fish market, working with different shutter speeds for dynamic scenes of workers sorting seafood. This is also a great spot for detail shots – of goods and traders’ tools, for example. We then venture towards the back of the market for candid portraits of couriers on their trucks. We conclude the night at a tea shop near the market, reviewing and selecting photos while sharing valuable feedback to elevate your photography skills.

What to Expect

Prepare to take a variety of incredible images on our Hanoi by Night evening photography tour. Explore Hanoi’s most famous century-old night market, where you’ll learn techniques for night photography with exciting compositions. We’ll be rubbing shoulders with the locals in the brightly-lit market, traders, couriers and customers barging this way and that between the stalls. There’s a great deal to explore, with exotic fruit stalls, workers unloading trucks, and a fish and meat market with some very talkative traders down by the river. It all makes for a unique, evocative travel experience, offering a rich variety of nocturnal images.

Popular Day Tours

Cross the coastal mountain pass, before exploring life at Lang Co Lagoon

We head for the hills between Danang and Hue, on a photographic adventure through the clouds. Capture epic landscapes from one of Vietnam's most breathtaking journeys, stopping off along the way to document authentic local life. At Lang Co Lagoon, we have an up close encounter with fishing communities that have plied their trade here for generations.

Discover soaring mountains, authentic craft villages, and timeless country life

Get off the tourist trail and experience true lowland life in Ninh Binh province. We'll enjoy some of the area's most iconic activities, including a longboat ride at Tam Coc and a climb to Hang Mua Peak, but our main focus will be craft villages producing stonework and handbuilt ceramics, and images of classical rural life.

Delve into real daily life along Saigon's canals

Capture images of a hidden side of Ho Chi Minh City, including a picturesque floating village of houseboats, a thriving local wet market and plenty of people photography with friendly locals. Camera in hand, you'll create a pictorial story of a way of Saigonese life on the verge of disappearance.

Capture the action beside Saigon's tracks as trains roll in from the north

This quiet part of the city, surprisingly close to the centre, is like a snapshot from bygone times, with narrow, sleepy alleyways, vintage coffeeshops and Saigonese showing their traditional smiles and hospitality. Along the way, we’ll work on composition techniques and use of various settings to take your images to the next level.
