Want a little more from your visit to Vietnam, let us tailor your photographic adventure

Vietnam in Focus run acclaimed photography tours throughout Vietnam and Indochina.

Hoi An - To the Lighthouse

Explore off the beaten track along the stunning Thu Bon river and develop your photography skills on this specially-designed private tour.

The Thu Bon river has been Hoi An’s lifeblood since time immemorial, and the fishermen and women who ply their trade here are just the latest generation in a history stretching back centuries. We’ll get away from the tourist crowds and commercial photo tour groups to create a photographic story of this fishing trade from catch to market, with the smallest details and the widest panoramas. You’ll learn how to choose, compose and capture the kind of pictures that make for a great photojournalistic story. This is a private tour only, especially suited to those serious about improving their photography knowledge and skills.

What to Expect

The Thu Bon River Delta is awash with colour and adventure. The bustling fishing village lets you get up close and personal with fishmongers, fishermen and traders. Portraits are aplenty and the exciting activity can help you capture some amazing action shots. The beautiful river delta is a special attraction for any landscape photographer. At dawn the delta is full of colour, a perfect backdrop to the harbour, with boats and fishing nets filling the river. The Lighthouse at the end of the tour is the icing on the cake, with stunning panoramic views of Hoi An’s special Thu Bon River Delta.

I loved this tour and am so glad I did it at the beginning of my holiday as it meant that my photos from then on have improved. I learnt so much about getting the right shots and angles and even about using my own camera to better advantage. Highly recommend doing this tour. I would do it again.
